His contribution to the film industry has been phenomenal, with back-to-back classics such as Blade Runner, Thelma, and Louise, G.I. Jane, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down to name a few. However, the most influential of all films is his 1979 sci-fi film, Alien.

From stunning cinematography, titillating special effects and a star-studded cast and, the movie left an unforgettable mark on its viewers.

For a sci-fi action franchise, the six mainline original Alien movies, as well as the two Alien Vs. Predator entries have raked in a mind-blowing $1.6 billion at the box office. We can understand that — with multiple sequels and prequels — it can all get a bit confusing.
