A$AP Rocky said in an interview: “I just want a cool child with cool parents.”
Rihanna and the 33-year-old rapper A$AP Rocky welcomed a precious baby boy into their lives in Los Angeles, as reported by People and Entertainment Tonight on May 19th. On May 13th, TMZ was the first one to break the news that Rihanna has given birth.
In an interview for Dazed Summer 2022 cover, published on Monday, the rapper talked about becoming parents and the ideology he hopes to impart to their son.
He said:
I will always remind my children to never lose their imagination, even as adults, no matter what … I hope to raise open-minded children. Not people who discriminate, and I’m not trying to describe a saint, but realistically, I just want a cool child with cool parents.
He also said:
Things like diversity and versatility are important, and they’ll be embedded in the household.
About their trip to Barbados, Rocky shared with Dazed:
I was raised to know about my heritage, but I was missing the actual experience. I didn’t get to experience it until I was an adult. It was one of the most surreal experiences I’ve encountered in my lifetime.

In the cover story published on April 12th, Rihanna said:
“People don’t get out of the friend zone very easily with me, and I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me, because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in.”
Rihanna said Rocky “became my family” during the 2020 COVID quarantine lockdown. The two singers left behind their luxurious life to go on a road trip from Los Angeles to New York together.
About their little adventure she shared:
“I cooked our food on this little janky grill I bought from Walmart. I love the simple things but also the grand adventures … I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side.”
In her Vogue cover story, Rihanna also revealed that they weren’t planning to become parents, but they weren’t opposed to the idea either.
