Justin Bieber Shares Health Update About Getting “Better” After His Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Diagnosis

Justin recovery update

Three days ago, Justin Bieber shared with his fans that he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Just recently, he shared an update about his health on Instagram and how his faith strengthened him.

“Each day has gotten better and through all of the discomfort, I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me,” Bieber wrote, before thanking God for “constantly [welcoming] me into his loving arms.”

He also said:

“This perspective has given me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing. I know this storm will pass but in the meantime, Jesus is with me.”

After the “Baby” singer canceled his shows in Toronto and D.C, fans were left wondering why he did so. Then later last week Bieber revealed to his fans how he was suffering from Ramsay Hunt syndrome. It’s a rare virus that causes facial paralysis as the nerves in your face and ears are affected.

In a video posted on his Instagram, the artist explained how he was unable to move the entire right side of his face. He was only able to smile and blink on the left side of his face. He told:

“As you can see, this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So there’s full paralysis on the side of my face.”

He also said that he hopes now his fans can understand why he had to cancel the shows in Toronto and DC.

“So for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously not capable of doing them. This is pretty serious. As you can see.”

He stated that:

“Obviously, my body’s telling me I gotta slow down,” he said he’ll be slowing down and taking his time to “rest and relax” before continuing with his shows once more.

Bieber also shared that he was doing facial exercises to “get my face back to where it’s supposed to be.”

“It will go back to normal. Just time and we don’t know how much time that’s gonna be, but it’s gonna be okay,” he said. “And I have hope, and I trust God, and I trust that this is all for a reason. I’m not sure what that is right now. But in the meantime, I’m gonna rest.”

The health update came a few days after he had to postpone multiple tour dates due to health concerns, it was said Bieber’s sickness was “getting worse.” No other details were provided.

A statement from Scotiabank Arena said:

“Due to non-COVID related illness, the Justice Tour has postponed this week’s Toronto shows.”

The Grammy winner received lots of love and support on the post. His mother Pattie Mallette also sent her prayers by sharing a series of emojis.

The “Don Dada” singer, Timaya (@timayatimaya) sent his prayers to Justin Bieber:

@Nlechoppa1 requested his 1.4M followers to let Bieber know he can reach out to him for any sort of help:

TikTok sensation and music artist Zach Clayton (@zachclayton) also tweeted about Bieber’s recovery:

Mayo Clinic says the symptoms of Ramsay Hunt syndrome like hearing loss and facial paralysis last only temporarily. However, there are certain chances of them becoming permanent. The syndrome can be treated by taking antiviral medications, along with corticosteroids. Some people may even need pain relievers and anti-anxiety medications.

According to Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), there are 3.2 to 4.2 cases per 1000 annually for RHS (Source: ETCanada). In the USA, around 5 out of 100,000 individuals suffer from RHS (Source: WebMD).

Just last year, Alex Reid was diagnosed with ‘Asperger’s Syndrome at the age of 45-years-old. The star said it made him understand certain aspects of his life a lot better now.

In September 2021, the Beliebers were overjoyed when Bieber performed at the MTV VMAs 2021 in New York City, for the first time in six years. We wish Justin Bieber a speedy recovery and look forward to his future concerts.
