Deadpool 3: Hugh Jackman Says Multiverse Is the Reason for the Resurrection of Wolverine

Hugh-Jackman-Hints-at-the-Multiverse-Being-Responsible-for-His-Wolverine-Return.

Excitement surged among the fans after the revelation that Hugh Jackman will reprise his iconic role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3; a much angrier and grumpier co-starring alongside Ryan Reynolds. There was significant fear and mistrust amongst fans, and with good cause, that the picture may end up watering down the emotional weight of the ending of what was meant to be Jackman’s final excursion as the character in Logan (2017).

In the movie, nominated for an Oscar, Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart reprised their roles as Logan and Laura. The story takes place in the future, and Logan’s ability to heal has begun to diminish. In the end, Logan decides to give his life to save Laura, who was produced from Logan’s own DNA. The emotional ending of the movie was wrenching to see, but it was the right way to conclude the story of the character.

Presently, Jackman has disclosed more about the device used to enable him to restore the character, and it appears to be leading to various things, including bringing Deadpool into the MCU and another film involving the key to the next two phases of Marvel – the Multiverse.

Jackman also dropped the hint in response to a question on The Jess Cagle Show, about the upcoming Deadpool movie and how the Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige’s continuing multiverse approach would play an important role in Logan’s appearance in the MCU. Specific statements made by him are as follows:

“It’s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines. Now we can go back because, you know, it’s science. So, I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too.” His co-star Reynolds, also recommends similar sharing on Twitter on this matter. “Logan takes place in 2029. Totally separate thing. Logan died in Logan. Not touching that.”

This, however, makes perfect sense in light of the fact that the multiverse is going to play a role in a significant number of upcoming MCU movies. However, we do not yet have confirmation that is 100% certain, and there are still additional unknowns concerning the narrative.

Director Shawn Levy has also provided an update on the status of Wolverine’s comeback, and while he did not provide any specifics, it seems as though the creative team is making excellent headway.

Hugh Jackman has been outspoken about how, after watching the first Deadpool movie, he saw the role of the mutant with adamantium claws and regretted passing on the opportunity to play the character.

During the time when Ryan Reynolds & Marvel were discussing the third film, the X-Men superstar agreed to come back due to an insight he had while on vacation. This realization came to him after years of Ryan Reynolds imploring him to come back to the franchise.

James Mangold, the director of Logan and the forthcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, is also unconcerned about the influence of his picture. “Oh my gosh! Everybody chill,”  Mangold wrote on Twitter.  “Just kidding! I’m all good! Logan will always be there. Multiverse or prequel, time warp or wormhole, canon or non-canon or even without a rationale, I cannot wait to see what madness my dear friends Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman cook up!”

Jackman has already expressed his enthusiasm at the prospect of resuming the part. He further implied that the additional time he has spent with the character has improved his performance and will allow him to extract more from himself as a result: “Is that arrogance of age or something? Wolverine’s a tortured character — more tortured than me. But I always get the feeling of him being comfortable in his own skin. And I feel more comfortable in my own skin now, even though it’s messier.”

The shooting of Deadpool 3 is anticipated to start in May 2023, and the film is expected to be released in theaters on November 8, 2024. The movie has the potential to become an essential piece in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Multiverse Saga, which comprises the lineup of upcoming Marvel films.
