I’m excited to share something special with you: “This Town,” a new series from Steven Knight, the genius behind “Peaky Blinders.” It’s set to light up our screens on 31st March.
Imagine a show packed with stars like Michelle Dockery from “Downton Abbey,” Nicholas Pinnock from “Life,” and a fresh face, Levi Brown. They’re part of a group that dives into the exciting music world of the 1980s in the Midlands, a time full of big changes and challenges.
The show’s all about young people trying to find their way, using music as their guiding light to a better future. It’s got a fantastic cast, including Geraldine James, Freya Parks, Stefan Asante-Boateng, George Somner, and Brendan Gibson from “Peaky Blinders.”

According to the official synopsis:
“It tells the story of a group of young people fighting to choose their own paths in life, each in need of the second chance that music offers.”
What’s really cool is the music in This Town. Dan Carey, Kae Tempest, and ESKA have created amazing songs for the show. Plus, artists like Celeste and Gregory Porter have done special covers for the end of each episode.

For those who love to binge-watch, all episodes of “This Town” will be out at 6 am on Sunday, 31st March, on BBC iPlayer abroad. If you prefer to watch it on TV, it’ll start on BBC One at 9 pm on the same day.
The series kicks off in 1981, a time of big social changes. It’s all about young folks trying to make their mark, with music offering them a new chance at life. Get a quick look at the trailer here:
The story doesn’t stop there. Episode two airs at 9 pm on Monday, 1st April, and then the show will be on every Sunday night. Filmed in Birmingham, “This Town” takes us into the lives of a big family and young people getting into the ’80s music scene.
