Sir Mick Jagger, the legendary Brit singer has been enjoying himself while visiting the popular tourist spots of Liverpool ahead of the first concert of Rolling Stones in the city for nearly 50 years since 1971 as part of the 60th-anniversary European tour of the rock band.

Jagger, now 78, was seen in good spirits ahead of his band’s performance at the iconic Anfield Stadium. The English rock band last performed in Liverpool at the Empire Theater back in 1971 with two dates in the month of March that year.

The Rolling Stones’ frontman revealed that he was so eager to experience everything the birthplace of the Beatles had to offer. He took to social media and shared a series of pictures.

The quadruple of snaps shared by Jagger shows the singer posing in front of Liverpool’s hotspots as he returned to the city. He tweeted: “So long since I’ve been in Liverpool – looking forward to Anfield tomorrow night!”

One of the snaps shows the singer standing outside the Royal Liver Building. In another pic, he can be seen with his arm wrapped around the life-sized statue of Cilla Black located at Mathew Street.

The superstar also stopped by the famous Canada Boulevard of the city, as well as the adjacent Museum of Liverpool.

The pioneers of rock performed their first-ever stadium gig in front of thousands of concert-goers at Anfield, Liverpool. Thursday night’s show was the UK performance of the band since the demise of the iconic drummer of the Rolling Stones Charlie Watts last year.

The band’s 60th-anniversary tour of Europe has already taken them to Madrid and a concert is also scheduled at London’s BST festival at Hyde Park. Other countries on the tour on different dates include Germany, Italy, France, and Holland.
