Elliot Page’s spouse comes out to his support just a few hours after he announced that he is transgender.
Emma Portner; Elliot’s wife, said that she is proud of her partner and she also stated that trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world. She shared these views publicly through her Instagram post, sharing a screenshot of Elliot’s post along with a caption that says:
Elliot and Emma got married in 2018 and since then, the couple has been seen supporting each other pretty well. Elliot Page gained fame through his projects like Juno and The Umbrella academy. He has also been an Oscar nominee, whereas Emma is a dancer and choreographer from Canada.
Elliot Page came out with the news of being transgender by sharing a long letter for fans on his Twitter. The 33-year old star clearly mentioned in his post that his pronouns are he/ they and also mentioned that he is lucky to be here. Here is a view of Elliot’s letter shared on Twitter:

Soon after Elliot came out with this news, support from his fans and trans community started pouring in. A great number of people have come forward in support of the Canadian actor. However, the actor has also felt a little concerned as he stated, “I’m scared of the invasiveness, the hate, the ‘jokes’ and of violence. To be clear, I am not trying to dampen a moment that is joyous and one that I celebrate, but I want to address the full picture.”
Elliot announced that he is gay back in the year 2014 during his speech at the Human Rights Campaign’s Time to Thrive conference in Las Vegas.
After Elliot came out with this news, many celebrities from the industry have also come forward to his support. One of the first ones to share support was Ellen DeGeneres, as she tweeted:
Sending love to my friend, @TheElliotPage. You inspire me with your strength, courage and honesty.
