The BBC has officially announced the revival of the iconic game show Blankety Blank, set to return with Bradley Walsh as the host for two or more seasons. This classic show, which first captivated audiences from 1979 to 1990, is making a comeback, promising fresh laughter and entertainment.

Blankety Blank returned to the BBC in 2020, with Bradley Walsh taking on the role of host for a Christmas Special, followed by a new series airing in October 2021. Since then, the show has grown in popularity, with the third series airing in the Autumn of the following year.

Exciting news has emerged confirming that Blankety Blank will be back for two more series, delighting fans eager for more laughter and entertainment from the beloved game show.

The decision follows a successful Christmas special, drawing in 6.3 million viewers and showcasing the timeless appeal of this beloved format. Including “Blankety Blank 2024” and “Blankety Blank revival with 2 series” highlights the network’s commitment to rejuvenating this classic for new and nostalgic audiences.

Bradley Walsh, known for his role in “The Chase,” expresses his excitement about leading the show into its new era. He aims to build upon the legacy of past hosts while adding his unique flair.

Bradley said of the renewal:

I tell you what, there isn’t a show quite like Blankety Blank – it’s absolutely brilliant fun from start to finish. The celebrities will come up to me after a record and tell me how much fun they had filming, but more importantly, so do the contestants.

It’s been a huge privilege to be part of the team in charge of bringing Blankety Blank to new audiences,” producer Charlie Irwin said. “We are thrilled with how it’s been received and are so excited to make more for the BBC. We genuinely love this show and filming it is an absolute joy.

Contestants must match celebrities’ answers to fill in the missing blanks to win, but it’s always more challenging than it sounds! The format is inspired by the US series Match Game.

The show will maintain its original charm, including the iconic theme tune and the memorable Blankety Blank checkbook and pen, ensuring the revival remains true to its roots while looking forward to a bright future on BBC One’s Saturday night lineup.

The BBC has officially announced that each of the two new series will consist of 10 episodes. The best part is you can watch BBC iPlayer Abroad and catch up on Blankety Blank episodes.
