Big Announcement: Catch British Swimming Championships 2024 Live on BBC Channels!

Next week, I’ll be tuning into the British Swimming Championships live on the BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. The event will be held at the London Aquatics Centre from April 2 to 7.

It’s not just any competition; it’s the British trials for the Olympics and Paralympics this summer.

I’ve always loved how the BBC brings every finals session directly to us, and this time, Channel 4 is stepping up too, streaming not only the finals but also the morning heats.

And there’s more for sports enthusiasts like me; the British Diving Championships are coming up in May, also broadcast by BBC Sport.

Reflecting on the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Team GB’s outstanding performance with eight swimming medals, including four golds, not to mention the 26 at the Paralympics, fills me with pride and anticipation.

Among the competitors, I’m particularly excited to watch double Olympic champion Adam Peaty as he competes in London, aiming for a spot at this summer’s Paris Games. He is making a comeback after taking time off to focus on his mental health and tackle challenges with alcohol.

What’s also groundbreaking about the British Championships this year is the integrated schedule of swimming and para-swimming, a first of its kind.

I’ll be keeping up with every twist and turn of the event on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC iPlayer abroad.
