Fans Think “Vecna” from Stranger Things Is Hot and Jamie Campbell Bower Is ‘Grateful’ for That

Jamie Campbell Bower & Vecna

Jamie Campbell Bower has delivered a masterpiece performance in “Stranger Things” and there’s no denying that fans are awestruck by his role in the TV series. The British heartthrob recently expressed his gratitude while stating that he is “grateful” to the fans who find his character of Vecna appealing and hot.

The 33-year-old star, who joined Stranger Things in season 4 to play the role of the villain, appeared in a Netflix short video and reacted to fan videos from TikTok, memes, and tweets about his titular character while displaying a wide range of videos from cosplay to enticing posts.

Among such posts was a video from TikToker @diariesofaholyknight posing to lick a picture of Vecna, besides an on-screen caption, “Am I the only one that thinks the Vecna is hot?”

“That man just licked my nasal cavity uninvited,” Bower stated. “I mean I’m grateful — well, I, me, Barry Gower, Duncan Jarman, the whole effects team — we’re very grateful for the fact that you think the V-man’s sexy, but next time, let me know before you lick my nostrils.”

The character of Vecna required Bower to wear full-body prosthetics in order to display the look of a humanlike-creature without a nose and wrapped in thin vines, who lives in the tenebrous parallel dimension of Stranger Things called Upside Down. While operating from his habitat, he aims to carry out revenge on Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown), who exiled him to the principality after he slaughtered the rest of the kids at the Hawkins National Laboratory where she grew up.

Bower also manifested his confusion previously with fans’ interest in the character of Vecna while appearing in the popular “thirst tweet” segment of BuzzFeed.

“Man’s got tendrils and a big left hand. Maybe that’s what you’re into, I don’t know,” Bower stated.

Another thing that bewilders him is “Vecnussy,” a portmanteau of “Vecna” and lingo for female genitalia (the “ussy” suffix, as reported by Vulture, that has become a famous meme).

“My Vecnussy, what is it? I don’t even know where it is. I don’t know what it is,” Bower expressed in the Netflix video. “I put as much as I had of my Vecnussy into ‘Stranger Things,’ but if you can help me find my Vecnussy so that I can then put it into something else, that would be fantastic.”

Netflix also shared a roleplay video tweet in which Jamie can be seen apologizing to Joe Quinn and the viewers for the erratic behavior of Vecna in Stranger Things 4. He says, “And today…I am here to apologize. I know a lot of people are mad at me.”

Netflix India shared a BTS video on its official YouTube channel with the caption, “*Screams in demogorgon* Get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of VECNA  featuring Jamie Campbell Bower, Barrie Gower, the Duffer Brothers and more.”

Stranger Things is a popular fan-favorite horror drama series that took the viewers by storm since its debut in 2016. Season 4 of this fantasy TV show has recently landed on Netflix and fans have been binge-watching with great enthusiasm.
