The Season 5 Finale of Rick and Morty Finds an Ending to a Major Problem

Rick & Morty has seen the titular team face off against various foes since its 2013 premiere, with season 5 introducing the best one yet, ultimately solving the show’s biggest Rick problem. It was revealed at the end of the fifth season that Evil Morty’s objective was to escape the Central Finite Curve that all of the Ricks had constructed for themselves. He tore open a hole in the universe and escaped away from Rick’s universe by using the remaining portal fluid and the bodies of numerous Ricks and Mortys on the Citadel.

Rick & Morty’s ongoing success may be attributed to its mind-bending sequences, fantastic comedy, and deep characters, all of which combine to form a vast interplanetary tale. Following some of the significant narrative revelations from Rick & Morty season 5, it will be intriguing to see if Rick & Morty season 6 and beyond will retain the present concentration on the overarching storyline. Creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have secured a deal with Cartoon Network that will keep Rick and Morty on the air for at least 100 episodes. Season 7 is already in production and it may air sooner than we anticipate. However, season 8 of the Rick and Morty show is already in the works.

In “Solaricks” the Season 6 premiere, Rick confirmed that the rift evil Morty had used to escape was still open, and he had used it to travel across dimensions himself. Fans had been wondering what had happened to this open hole in the universe, but the latest episode of the series has finally put this problem to rest, as this open rift was not only addressed but also closed before the show ended. Much to Rick’s disgust, he observed that it could have been so much more.

Throughout the Season 6 episode “Juricksic Mort,” the news continued mentioning a mysterious fissure opening amid space. Rick had continued to ignore it, shoving it under the rug in the same way he had refused to work on his portal pistol. He had purposely dragged his feet in both cases (perhaps because they would bring him closer to Rick Prime for the first time in his hunt for the opponent), and it wasn’t until a highly intelligent troop of dinosaurs rectified it for him that nothing was done.

What’s strange is that it’s being played off as if nothing happened, although Rick publicly complains about how easily they rectified it. Arguing that it could have been something significant for the series’ canon (that could have “been milked for a whole season” or a “three-episode arc at the very least”), it’s odd that the show is making such a big deal out of something that has been ignored for the past several episodes. It’s almost as if it’s been made so inconsequential that it’s become important in unexpected ways.

This may be anything from suggesting a possible return of Evil Morty, Rick Prime, or something else. However, the series made it a point to rectify it before taking a break before the final episodes. Here’s how you can enjoy streaming all the episodes of Rick and Mory Season 6 in the USA.
