Karan Johar’s famed talk show Koffee With Karan season 7 grabs itself plenty of attention by sparking controversies left and right. The most recent episode featured superstars Akshay Kumar along with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The two talked their hearts out about professional and personal affairs.
Samantha even went on to speak about her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya. However, there are a few exchanges of conversation that the audience didn’t like in the least and were quite enraged by. Some of the incidents that weren’t well accepted by the fans are:
Karan Johar Disrespected Nayanthara
KJo has been landing himself in hot waters ever since Koffee with Karan 7 kicked off. This time, he’s being slammed by Nayanthara fanatics for disrespecting the actress after Samantha regarded Nayanthara as “the biggest heroine in the south”. The host interjected by saying, “not on my list.”
A viewer came to Prabhu’s defense when Karan Johar kept badgering her with his opinions:
@Samanthaprabhu2 Is such a Sweetheart & Sharing her Lovable bond with #Nayanthara ❤️ @karanjohar She is not far in your list coz Your list is full of Nepo-Products which doesn’t deserve any arguements and discussions. #KoffeeWithKaran #LadySuperStar pic.twitter.com/TDUXGT871Z

Karan Johar Asked Divorce-Related Questions to Samantha Ruth Prabhu
Host Karan Johar has been dubbed ‘padoswaali chachi’ by netizens for poking his nose into personal matters. For instance, he was accused of asking divorce-related questions from Samantha Prabhu and even referred to her ex-husband as her husband, which Prabhu corrected promptly.
Karan Johar’s Made Ranveer Singh Feel Inferior Compared to Alia Bhatt
Karan Johar made Ranveer Singh feel inferior on the show by favoring Alia Bhatt quite visibly. As a result of which, he sparked the nepotism debate. People called him out on his attitude when Ranveer revealed he was replaced by Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay Velvet as the main lead because his market value was less; however, things have changed as of late.
Karan Johar Felt Yami Gautam was Too Small of an Artist to Visit His Show
Another incident includes when Hrithik Roshan turned down an invite to KJo’s talkshow as the host didn’t want Roshan to show up with Yami Gautam whom he believed wasn’t too big of a star. This resulted in the audience criticizing Karan Johar vehemently. The whole incident happened when Kaabil was to be released soon.
A netizen backed the statement by comparing Yami Gautam with Sushant as neither were considered ‘big stars’ in KJo’s dictionary:
Very true! He never called Sushant on Koffee With Karan because he was the TV type. Also, I read as how Yami Gautam wasn't called on KWK as she is the TV type. These lovey dovey messages come out on social media when people die, rest all of these will gossip about his death.

Karan Johar Called ‘Bitchy Uncle’ for Downgrading Sara Ali Khan
Karan Johar was also called ‘bitchy uncle’ by the viewers for downgrading Sara Ali Khan for not having a father as protective as Jhanvi Kapoor’s. He even went on to call Jhanvi the “princess of the house” and made Sara feel like her family didn’t love her much. Netizens slammed him for stooping so low.
A fan even noticed how Sara was so done with Karan Johar favoring Jhanvi over her:
Started watching Koffee with Karan because of peer pressure but I did want to thank the camera crew for giving us closeups of Sara Ali Khan being low-key done w Karan and Janhvi the entire episode

The host even went on to inquire about Jhanvi Kapoor’s sex life to which she had a fitting reply. So there are no barriers with KJo when you appear on his show.
